Ever thought about the traveling Bed bug? In fact, do you think about bed bugs at all? You should! While being a clean fanatic helps, many simple factors contribute in bringing these blood sucking pests into your home. Like taking a vacation and staying in a Hotel, a simple Taxi Ride, a trip to the Movie Theater or even having Guests over at your home. This gives you a lot to think about, so here are some easy ways to keep them out of your life and retain $$$ in your pocket: • Vacuuming and Cleaning your home often. • Avoid clutter in your home, since bed bugs enjoy less trafficked spaces. • Do not buy used furniture, electronics or beds unless you're able to inspect them thoroughly for potential bedbug presence. Make sure to check all the cracks and crevices. • Periodically perform an inspection of your home focusing on the sleeping quarters, inspecting the bed and furniture in close proximity to the bed. • At friends and family gatherings, refrain from piling your guests coats and jackets together, even more so, avoid placing these articles on your bed or sofa. • When traveling and staying at a Hotel (5🌟 or otherwise), be sure to inspect hotel rooms to ensure they are free of bedbugs! Check beds, box springs and mattresses. Pay keen attention to the mattress piping, plastic protective caps for the box spring, and the headboard. When you've returned home, bag and launder all clothing and be sure to inspect suitcases for bedbugs – this stage is preferably done outside or in a garage. If you think you may have bed bugs, call Citi Termite Control for a free evaluation and remedy Quote. Termites are resilient woodeaters! They travel through soil, woodpiles, dead trees, stumps, roots near your home and even through stored wood alongside your property, using them as a bridge to infest your property and cause damage to both your home and your wallet. This type of Termite feasting on the wood in your home cost US homeowners a whopping $5 Billion dollars each year and an average of $3000, to repair their damage. Most times, Termites are hard at work within the wood, in beams and other wooden frameworks and usually found, when it's too late. The termite queen can live for 25 years discreetly and lays an egg, every 15 seconds, which ultimately, makes your home an ideal Termite dwelling and a trap for you. Such predicaments can be avoided, if you know what to look for and possibly take matters into your own hands.Termites are often mistaken for Ants, therefore, Identification must be made before any treatment is administered. Prevention Tips: *Keep mulch several inches below wooden parts of the home. *Remove woodpiles, dead trees, stumps, and roots near the home. *Store firewood several feet away from buildings and off the ground. *Remove wood and paper stored under your home, in the basement or crawlspace. *Reduce moisture near the foundation of buildings. *Divert rain water away from the home. *Repair any leaking pipes, faucets, or air conditioners. *Keep crawl spaces dry and well ventilated. *Repair foundation cracks, as quickly as possible. If you're unsure of what to look for and/ or have any of the scenarios listed above around your property and in need of professional help, contact Citi Termite Control for a consultation. When we think of Pest Management, we never think it's needed in our home, perhaps, a neighbor, friend or distant relative requires it, after all, our home is clean. This, is not always the case! Over the years, we've found that using Environmentally friendly products and a few simple methods we all can set in place, keeps Pantry pest at bay, as follows: *Keep your storage area neat and free of spills and crumbs. *When you purchase items make sure they are not expired or have torn packages. *Apply the FIFO (First In First Out) Rule, using the oldest products in your pantry, first. *Recycle your empty clear containers, by storing beans and grains in them so they can be easily identified and inspected. Lastly, the old wise tales goes, add Bay leaves in your rice and flour containers, to keep certain pests away. Why not try it?! If the above sounds familiar and you're not sure where to start, contact us to help identify and remedy the problem in a timely manner. Secure Garbage Containers: Make sure your indoor and outdoor garbage containers and recycling bins are always clean, have a lid and the outside ones placed away from your home. Rodents and insects are always looking for their next source of food, water and shelter to survive. Denying these will keep them away. This simple step can save you thousands of dollars in annual Pest Management Solutions. If your pest problems are out of control, you can always call us for service. When travelling both outside of and within the country be sure to inspect hotel rooms to ensure they are free of bedbugs. Inspect the bed, box spring and mattress, paying close attention to the mattress piping, plastic protective caps for the box spring and the headboard. When returning home bag and launder all clothing and be sure to inspect suitcases for bedbugs – this stage is preferably done outside or in a garage.
